Sea you soon - mermaid card

I finally got my hand on Lawn Fawn's "Mermaid for you" stamp set and have now had time to try it out. I made the background with ink smooshing on watercolor paper. The sand is kraft cardstock which is ink blended with Distress ink Vintage photo.

The images are colored with Zig clean color real brush markers except for the coral and sea weed which are solid stamps and stamped with Lawn Fawn ink and Versacolor inks. The sentiments and bubbles are stamped and heat embossed in white.

I'm loving this mermaid set so there will be tons more coming soon.

Hang in there birthday card with sloths

Finally got about to coloring this cute miniset from Lawn Fawn with the sloths. So adorable. The images are colored with Zig clean color real brush markers. I find it so hard to color a larger area, like the body of the sloth, getting the blending right. Need to practice more I guess. I got some texture in the body by simply spraying it a bit with water and dabbing it off.

The background is ink blended directly on the white card base. Then I also stamped with a Majestix stamp, a leaf branch with the same color distress inks as I used to blend (Cracked pistachio and Twisted citron). That last color is a late addition to my collection. Loving it.

The panel is die cut with an MFT stitched rectangle and then it's popped up with foam tape. The sloths are also mounted with foam tape.

Waving hello with jelly fish

I used the Lawn Fawn ministamp set with jelly fish to create this card. I stamped and colored the jelly fish with Zig clean color real brush markers. I put a little pink Nuvo drops as the markings as well.

The sea is a piece of Ranger watercolor cardstock with distress inks Cracked pistachio, Peacock feathers and Salty ocean. Then I added a white panel, cut with Lawn Fawn's largest stitched rectangle (popped up with foam tape) and also stamped the greeting in Lawn Fawn's Peacock ink.

Sunset city scape

I got this die from Marianne Design quite a while ago in a sale and have been wanting to try it out. I wanted to create a sunset background so I started out with ink smooshing a watercolor paper with distress inks. Then I placed the Tim Holtz sunset stencil on and applied some glossy texture paste. It didn't completely turn out as I had envisioned but it was fun to try.

I finished up by assembling the pieces with a black frame cut with Lawn Fawn dies. The sentiment is also from Lawn Fawn.

Vacation relaxation with Altenew Persian motifs

My vacation time of today, with small children, is far less relaxing than before children but I finally got some time to play with my new stamps *big smile*!! Just before we went on vacation I went to local store Pyssloteket and bought Altenew Persian motifs stamp set. I have not regretted it!!

I heat embossed the images in white and started to color them with the Zig clean color real brush markers and a water brush. I did 3 versions, one in blue, one in pink and one in yellow. Surprisingly enough, I like the blue one the best. I tend not to like flowers that are colored with an "unnatural" color (not a lot of flowers are blue like that) but it turned out quite nice. I'll turn them in to cards when I get home.

Loving the Zigs for this type of coloring. I find it very hard to blend the blues compared to blending the pinks or the yellows. I wonder how come?

Hope you all have a great holiday!
