Happy purrthday fall sunset scene

A friend commisioned a birthday card for a cat loving friend and then I could finally break out Lawn Fawn's utterly adorable Meow you doin' stamp set.

Lawn Fawn Meow you doin and leafy backdrop

I colored the kitties and accessories with my Zig Clean Color real brush markers. The background is done with distress inks; Abandon coral, Picked raspberry and Mustard Seed. The grass is Crushed olive and a little Mowed lawn.

The tree is cut from brown cardstock using the Leafy tree backdrop horizontal die from Lawn Fawn. The leaves comes from that die set as well. Before cutting the leaves, I colored a piece of Bristol paper with several colors of distress ink; Crushed olive, Mustard seed, Spiced marmalade, Festive berries, Candied apple and a little Vintage photo.

Loved how this turned out.

Behind the scenes
You learn alot by watching inspirational videos on  YouTube. Nichole Spohr is a definite favorite and she shows a lot in her videos how she plans her card designs to make sure everything fits. For this card I tried it out and it worked really well. Almost turned out exactly like that ;)

Kitty fall birthday wishes

Quite a few of my friends have their birthday during the fall. A perfect excuse to pull out the Lawn Fawn Meow you doin' stamp set, the leafy tree backdrop leaves die cut and some distress inks and other fun stuff.

Ink smooshing, stenciling and stamping

I got the inspiration from a gorgeous card on Instagram. It had some gorgeous colors that I wouldn't immediately have put together myself so I got out my distress inks and went to town.

I started by smooshing ink onto a laminated sheet I have. I used; Cracked pistachio, Seedless Preserves, Salty Ocean and a bit of Chipped Saphire. I sprayed them with water and pressed my watercolor paper into it. I dried it with a heat tool and then pressed it in again where I wanted more color. I did it several times.

Then it was time for some stenciling. I used two different Tim Holtz stencils with some Hero Arts Unicorn pigment ink. I used a makeup applicator to dab on the ink.

Then I chose a couple of stamps that I wanted to use; sheet music and a text stamp and stamped that Distress Ink Chipped Saphire. I also used a texture stamp (little dots) with Versacolor silver pigment ink.

Then it was time to stamp the flowers using Distress Ink Dusty Concord. I used two different flowers from a Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous stamp set with flowers.

I finished the cards off with sentiments from Gummiapan heat embossed in white.

The cards are then mounted on a dark grey cardbase.

Loved how they turned out!

Dark cardstock outline with one colored flower

A while ago I got a flower stamp set from Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz and decided to try it out with this tecnique; heat embossing/watermarking on dark cardstock and then adding one colored item on top.

I colored the flowers with Distress Inks and then added some glitter enamel dots/white pearls as a finishing touch.

I left the cards without a sentiment (wishes from my mom who wanted to be able to use them for "whatever" *smile*).

Challenge at Pysslotekets

Found a very cute card on Pinterest that had an opening on the front and a beautiful sea scene on the inside. Since I've been wanting to play with my Lawn Fawn mermaid set, this was the perfect layout to start with.

I started by die cutting a circle window with a stitched circle from My Favorite Things. I stamped the greeting from Lawn Fawn's Happy happy happy in Merman ink and then attached two cute stars from the Lawn Fawn "I'm so jelly" stamp set.

When you open up the card you get this sea landscape with tons of images. I took the greeting fromthe LF Fairy stamp set and the packages are from another set. The rest is from the mermaid stamp set.

Monoprinting, hugs and congrats

I used a stencil and the technique "monoprinting" to achieve the background. So much fun! You start by smooshing your chosen inks on your stencil, you spray it with water just til the ink beads up. Then you carefully turn the stencil around and place it on your watercolor cardstock and press. I put a paper towel on top as well so if any water comes ozing out through the stencil, it's caught by the paper towel. Then lift the stencil up and let dry. You never get the same result twice so it's always exciting to see what you get.

I finished the card off by die cutting them with a Hero Arts rectangle die. I also cut a blue mat with one size larger die and then mounted on a white card base. The sentiments are from Lawn Fawn, die cut in black card stock (3 layers) and then with some Wink of Stella on top.

Scrap haul from Gummiapan

I noticed that Gummiapan had a couple of new releases when it comes to Swedish word dies so I jumped on their new and improved webshop and ordered some scrap candy. I got the dies "Tack", "Grattis" and "Gratulerar". Then I also found some great stamps as well.

The dies are gorgeous, very delicate. I immediately used them on this card I had sitting on my desk, post coming soon.

Vacation and me-time, ink smooshing and die cutting

More inspiration taken from Pinterest and then finally getting a full morning to myself and putting it together =)
Tree and landscape border dies
For this one, I used a cute tree die set from My Favorite Things. The landscape stiched border and the rectangle stiched frame is from Lawn Fawn. Also the paper is Lawn Fawn, love that paper!!

Ink smosching and stamping
Here I wanted to try out ink smooshing with some color combinations that I hadn't tried before; Cracked pistachio, Seedless Preserves, Salty Ocean and a bit of Chipped Saphire. I stamped the images with Chipped Saphire, Dusty Concord and also a Versacolor in Silver. A bit of Hera Arts white ink was also used through a Tim Holtz stencil. The sentiments are from Gummiapan. Loved how it came out!
