Snuggling up by the fire

Last Christmas card for 2017 made with Lawn Fawn's oh so cute "Christmas dreams" stamp set. The back is made with lightly sponged Distress ink and then flicking some distress ink on with a paint brush. I then mounted the die cut images directly on top.

Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!

Season's greetings with cute Lawn Fawn cars

Some Stickles on the roof tops and mountain tops finished off this Lawn Fawn christmas card.
First version.

Another version with different colored cards and only packages on top.

Christmas tags

I wanted to make some cute christmas tags with critters from Lawn Fawn, Newton's Nook and My Favorite things. I cut a bunch of tags with a die from Nellie Snellen and I heat embossed the front with a Lawn Fawn snowfall stamp. I then sponged the tags with distress inks in various blues, masking off where the sentiment would be with a post-it note. I then heat embossed the sentiments in silver and mounted the critters either flat or with foam tape.
Kitties from Newton's Nook and bear from My Favorite Things.

Kitties from Newton's Nook and car from Lawn Fawn. The mountains are also Lawn Fawn, cut from white card stock and then sponged with Distress ink.

The last cute kitty is from Lawn Fawn. Love him with a bow tie!

Full 2017 Christmas card display

Time to send out those Christmas cards. This is my full display of 2017 send out. (Really bad angle, I know but it was hard to get them all in one photo... Will make a note to practise my photography for 2018 *smile*)

Using both negative and positive from die cutting in one card

Christmas cards with die cut christmas trees.

Christmas wishes from polar bear pals

Loving these Polar pals from My Favorite things. Colored them up quite some time ago but had trouble on deciding on a layout. But, I created this gorgeous blue background the other day and it was really suitable for these cuties.
The finished cards together with the stamps from My Favorite Things.

First set up bears. Really loved that blue background. Want to try that one again.

Second set of bears. Snow flakes are from Sizzix and sentiment is Lawn Fawn's Merry messages.

Watercoloring backgrounds

I wanted to create a bunch of backgrounds for christmas cards and instead of doing it panel by panel, I decided to tape a whole sheet of water color paper (Canson XL) to my board and then painting. I used a kids set of watercolors (borrowed my daughters *smile*) started painting.

I first wet the paper to get the colors flowing and then went in with two different blues. I left a white area in the middle, mostly by chance but thought it might be able to double like snow...
First layer.

Second and third layer now dry, starting to add Perfect pearls.

Finished piece now also with added white paint as snow fall.

I liked this way of doing backgrounds, will most definitely be doing that again.
